The three-year community educational plan for Keaukaha is being implemented through four "Strategic Working Groups" from 30 community members, half of whom are volunteers (i.e., not employed by the 8 existing educational institutions serving Keaukaha). Each working group has their own 90-day implementation plans that it will manage on its own. Each 90-day implementation plan is developed for separate quarterly accomplishments.
At a minimum, all 30 members gather at the end of each quarter, to review progress each working group has made, then to develop new 90-day implementation plans for the next quarter’s accomplishments. At the end of the first year, the same 30 should convene to review the previous quarter, to develop new annual accomplishments, and to develop new 90-day implementation plans for the new accomplishments.
As experienced in the initial summits and evidenced in the written comments, this community-based educational initiative has built up significant momentum. New relationships, new conversations, and new contributions to the community good are all fuel for positive, community-driven change.
